FOUNDED BY JOSE SANCHEZ IN 2011, THE PLETHORA PROJECT STARTED AS AT TEACHING INITIATIVE AND HAS GROWN TO BECOME A DESIGN AND SOFTWARE STUDIO.

 

Plethora-Project is a design studio with a mission to accelerate computational literacy in the frame of Architecture and Design. Each project developed advances a thesis of how to grow design knowledge through participatory strategies using video games and building systems.

The studio believes in a humanistic approach to design, placing humans as responsible for decisions, and questioning decision-making algorithms. The company sees video games as mechanisms for intelligence augmentation, allowing for a dialogue between experts and non-expert users allowing to generate community growth through literacy and recipes.

The company has been founded with the goal of growing the commons, generating tools that serve the interest of the individuals using them. We believe in an autonomous form of architecture, where value remains in the hands of the people that build it.
